Oracle Mobile Security Suite (OMSS) is software acquired from Bitzer and addresses Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) challenge. OMSS as of Sep 214 is of version 3.0
OMSS Architecture consists of
a) Oracle Mobile Security Container – holds containerized apps on mobile devices (Apple iOS or Google Android)
Note: Optional Oracle Mobile Mail manager (with apps as mail client, calendar, contacts) is provided separately as add-on.
b) Oracle Mobile Security Access Server : typically installed in DMZ and provides tunneled connections between the Server and containerized apps. Secure tunnel opened is normally opened by containerized app from Mobile Security Container that terminates at Mobile Security Access Server .
c) Oracle Mobile Security Administrative Console : is a web application running on Apache or IIS web server and provides tools to Assign and manage policies , app catalog, remote lock or wipe of secure workspace app.
d) Oracle Mobile Security Notification Server : is designed to send notification from Microsoft Exchange to Apple Push Notification Services (APNS) and Google Cloud Notification (GCN). Oracle Mobile Security Notification Server is managed from Administrative Console .
e) Oracle Mobile Security File Manager: is WebDAV compliant file server. File Manager is a front end to enterprises internal Microsoft Windows File System or Sharepoint and enabled browsing intranet file shares from client.
f) Mobile Security App Containerization Tool : for iOS & Android (not shown in diagram above) is a command line tool to create containerized apps.
